Interior Design at the Royal Society of Arts
Home is where the heart is, and it’s where my head often is, too. So much of my work is entwined with identity, and home is a key part of that. Having previously worked on residential interior design projects and now looking through a different lens, I pulled together a panel of kick-ass interior designers forging their own path for International Women’s Day at the Royal Society of Arts last year.
Together, Emily Pun of Den, Jessica Horton of Deorling, Jess Alavi-Ellis and I explored the contemporary meaning of home, investigating how these intimate spaces can both reflect and challenge societal shifts, and what being a woman in this space means to them.
We had a fantastic discussion both on stage and with a packed crowd, and it was a total pleasure to delve deeper and discuss all things interior design. The engaged audience kept us chatting after the event, with many budding interior designers and artists starting their interior design journey keen to connect.
And for me, that’s what it’s all about: connection and community. That’s where the good things happen.
