Emily is a London-based artist, and many other things: a mother, a strategist, a storyteller. These threads weave together in her work, just as they do in her life.

Her practice, under the name Studio Lawen, dwells in the spaces her daughters' footsteps land: wildflowers, grasses, glimpses of home. It lets feeling lead, made in the small windows of time that motherhood offers.

Studio Lawen is intrinsically tied to motherhood and matrescence. It means joy in Welsh and marks a promise to always take the bold choice, as she encourages her little girls to.
